Sad incident from Mumbai 😪

 This is a sad incident from Mumbai...but the reality is...this is happening everywhere!😪

I have narrated and discussed attrocious incidents like these in the past, which were disclosed to me by the parents and on some occasions by the child too. I have seen it in my family too, during an era without internet, how gambling can make a person sell everything and everyone around!!😪

Now...when everything is at your fingertips...online...construction along with destruction...we HAVE TO make a child realize that...THERE ARE BETTER AND CONSTRUCTIVE THINGS WE CAN DO WITH MONEY AND SUPER POWERFUL INTERNET 👍👍👍!!

THIS IS A 2 HOUR INTERACTIVE WORKSHOP TOWARDS LEADING A HEALTHY LIFE,AGAINST ADDICTION OF ALL SORTS (smoking,alcohol,gutka,hookah,violent video games,dark side of internet) AND AGAINST EVERY HARMFUL TREND(abusive language, disrespecting women, disrespecting any individual,cyber bullying, trolling etc.),THAT I HAVE  CARRIED OUT IN MORE THAN 350 SCHOOLS AND COLLEGES ALL AROUND THE WORLD.

এটি স্কুলে অনুষ্ঠিত হলে, ৭ থেকে ১২ শ্রেণীর ছাত্রছাত্রীদের জন্য ভীষনভাবে উপযোগী।

 MY CHARACTER IN PALABADAL,WAS OF AN HONEST,UPRIGHT POLICE OFFICER,ARKA GANGULY...A NEMESIS TO THE CRIMINALS AND MORE THAN THAT TO THOSE WHO WOULD HARM HIS FAMILY!! 

WE WERE SHOOTING THIS SCENE,IN WHICH ARKA,IN PLAIN CLOTHES,GOES TO A DISHONEST HAWKER ON THE BEACH,TO GET BACK HIS BROTHER'S WATCH,WHICH HE HAD GIFTED ON HIS BIRTHDAY!

ARKA'S BROTHER HAD BARTERED HIS WATCH WITH A GIFT FROM THE HAWKER, FOR HIS WIFE,BECAUSE HE DIDN'T HAVE MONEY WITH HIM AT THAT TIME!

WE WERE SHOOTING ON A BEACH IN ORISSA. THE CROWD WAS UNCONTROLLABLE WHENEVER THE CAMERA WAS BEING SET UP! SO WE DECIDED TO SHOOT THIS SCENE WITH A HIDDEN CAMERA... :) ! 

IT HAD TO BE A 'ONE-TAKE O.K.' SHOT! 

MY CO-ACTOR GUNJAN ,WHO BY THE WAY IS NOT AN ACTOR BY PROFESSION(HE WAS AN ASSISTANT DIRECTOR) ,WAS A VERY OBEDIENT AND TRUSTWORTHY TEAM-MAN...HE JUST SAID "BOBBY DA I TRUST YOU 100% AS AN ACTOR  AND I WILL COMPLEMENT YOU IN EVERY WAY POSSIBLE IN THIS IMPORTANT,YET PHYSICALLY DEMANDING SCENE" !! 

THERE WAS NO REHEARSAL...ONLY IMPROVISATION...AND I THOUGHT HE SUPPORTED ME SO MUCH SO THAT ,EVERYONE ON THE BEACH GOT FRIGHTENED OF MY DEMEANOUR AND MISUNDERSTOOD GUNJAN AS A REAL LIFE CROOK OF A HAWKER!! :) ;)

MANY WHISPERED HESITANTLY...AFRAID... AS I WALKED BACK TO MY MAKE-UP VAN AFTER THE SHOT ..."YOU DID RIGHT DADA. PEOPLE LIKE THESE SHOULD BE BEATEN BLACK AND BLUE!"  :) ;) ;)

A pertinent question!!!

I want this movement to carry on...even when I am not there...but who is going to take it forward,with as much passion,as much selflessness and concern to try and save as many lives as we all can, outside their immediate family??? 

I keep searching a perhaps impossible search!! Perhaps it will end with me!! Perhaps not!! 

Life is short...very very short as we start realising the clock ticking!! 

Life is worth living by giving back too...and not only by taking from the society! 

But how many realize that???

Mother Nature 🙏❤🙏

 As a student and a teenager, who loved reading, it was Mrs.Anita Desai's novel 'The Village by The Sea' ,which was a part of my ICSE curriculum,that caught my imagination forever! Over the years she did become one of my favourite novelist! Anyone who has read this particular novel (not only for grades),will definitely fall in love with the way she paints a picture with words...a clear...graphic picture...which is permanently printed in the reader's imagination...much like Mr. Satyajit Ray...Mrs.Danielle Steel...or Mrs.Arundhuti Roy. The intricate detailing while painting that picture with words, is absolutely masterclass! 👌

How Mrs.Desai's novel is linked with this photo is ofcourse the stark irony of Mother Nature being so giving...so beautiful...so peaceful...yet...so wrathful and unforgiving too! Every individual needs to pay attention to the fatal signals that SHE is giving! ALL OF US NEED TO DO OUR INDIVIDUAL BITS...TO SAVE US FROM AN APOCALYPSE, IF NOT AN EXTINCTION!! 🙏

 It was 'Xavotsav'👍😊...Apart from other events I had enlisted myself in the 'Bengali Creative Writing' too👍😊. 

To my pleasant surprise I found the judges of that category were the legendary MR. PARTHO GHOSH and MRS. GOURI GHOSH 🙏! The topic of the poem we were to write within 30mins ,was to be given by 'Korno' and 'Kunti' themselves🙏!

It was 'Matrittyo (Motherhood)'! 

For obvious reasons the girls found it easier to relate to it...and the boys obviously glorified their respective mothers! 

Myself on the other hand let my pen loose on the deep craving and absolute awe of motherhood that I have in me, right from childhood! Hence my poem was named 'Ami Ma Hotey Chai'(I want to become a Mother)! 

I wrote it in 15mins but wasn't allowed to leave the classroom before the scheduled time. In the interim I could see Mr.& Mrs.Ghosh reading my poem! I was even more nervous when they called me up to say..."English medium er chhelera eto bhalo bangla lekhe, jene khub bhalo laglo! Khub bhalo hoyechhe. We loved the uniqueness in your poem"! 🙏

Even before the judgement was to be out on the next day , I was on the 7th heaven and 9th cloud!! 😊

Eventually I won the 1st prize, a gold medal! 🙏

Years later, when I had become an actor, 'Khela' was on-air on Zee, a superhit , I met Mr.and Mrs Ghosh in an award ceremony! 

Even before I could approach them, MRS. GOURI GHOSH smiled at me and said "Khub bhalo lagchhe Dr. Shurjo(my character's name) ke"! I touched both their feet and introduced myself with that reference to my first meeting with them during my school life! 

To my utter disbelief MRS. GOURI GHOSH said " Tumi Ma hote chao, right? "!!!!! She remembered!!! 😊❤

As me and my parents are hearing 'Karna -Kunti Sambad' once more in HER loving memory, we would like to wish HER soul all the peace there is,in heaven🙏🙏🙏.
