Father Paul Detienne❤🙏😊👍

Father Paul Detienne (1924-2016) was a Belgian Jesuit priest, noted for his literary endeavours in the Bengali language.❤🙏 He arrived in West Bengal in 1949, where he stayed until 1977. He studied Bengali language and literature at St Xavier’s College, Kolkata and at Santiniketan and went on to become a noted writer of Bengali in his own right. A winner of Rabindra Smriti Purashkar in 2010.❤🙏 It was my pleasure and privilege to know him up,close and personal.🙏❤ We remember innumerable joyous occasions with him,here in the photo, on SWAMI VIVEKANANDA'S birthday and especially at the bonfire of the Christmas eve in Sunderban ,where he stunned everyone by singing 'Boro asha kore eshechhi go,kachhe deke lou' with perfection❤🙏 ! I remember him insisting me to talk with him in Bengali ,for obvious reasons!❤🙏 R.I.P.🙏 dear Father.🙏
